What a great summer at Beausoleil!
Thank you for being part of a fun and fabulous summer at Beausoleil! We were proud and honored that Chef Nathan Gresham was selected as a Top 5 Chef to Watch by Louisiana Cookin’ magazine in the August 2011 issue. Along with the other Top Chefs from across the state, Chef Nathan featured his famous seafood salad at the prestigious banquet in New Orleans, hosted by Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne.
Also in August, Chef Nathan was crowned Iron Chef at the Aneurysm Outreach Inc. benefit event, beating out five other talented Louisiana chefs. Similar to the popular Food Network competition, Chef Nathan flawlessly integrated the required ingredients of pineapple and Cheese-Its into his winnings dishes – Chicken Confit Over Dirty Rice with Sweet Pepper Vermouth Sauce and New Orleans-Style Pineapple Barbecue Shrimp. Read all about it in The Advocate.
All summer long, we had a great turn-out for the Country Roads Passport …to good dining. And if you missed it, we took second-place honors in the 225 Magazine annual competition for Best New Restaurant in Baton Rouge, which says a lot since we only opened in October last year! A big THANK YOU to all who voted for Beausoleil.
Summer is finally coming to a close, and we are looking forward to a great fall! Beusoleil will be opening our new garden patio this month – just in time for cooler weather (we hope!). Chef Nathan will be introducing a number of new menu items in a few weeks as we prepare for the Fall 2011 menu and the rapidly approaching one-year anniversary of Beausoleil on October 22nd!
